About

The Playbook is a small attempt to explain credit risk the way it actually works.

Not through heavy formulas.
Not through textbook language.
And not through buzzwords that sound impressive but confuse more than they help.

Credit risk, at its core, is about understanding uncertainty. It’s about asking simple questions and answering them honestly:
Who might default?
When might it happen?
And how much could be lost if it does?

Over the years, I’ve seen that most people struggle with credit risk not because it’s too complex, but because it’s explained poorly. Important ideas are buried under jargon, regulations are quoted without context, and models are taught without intuition.

The Playbook exists to change that.

Here, you’ll find:

  • Clear explanations of credit risk concepts

  • Practical discussions around ECL, PD, LGD, and EAD

  • Excel-first thinking that focuses on logic before complexity

  • Content written for beginners, analysts, and practitioners alike

Alongside writing, I also run small, live courses on credit risk and ECL modelling. These sessions are designed to be interactive, slow, and practical. The goal is not to rush through slides, but to build real understanding.

This is not a large platform or a polished academy.
It’s a quiet space for people who want clarity.

If you’re curious about how lending really works, you’re in the right place.
